So what is Poetry Pin?

Place your words to a location in the Poetry Pin landsacpe and they will be visible in that spot only. Mouse over from your desktop and you'll get a snippet. To reveal in full you will need to step out and stand where the author intended you to. This is made possible with a bespoke mobile web-app developed especially for Poetry Pin.

Why here?

Hinkley Point and the Shurton Bars landscape are on the verge of immense change, they sit on an axis, poised to witness the shock of the new colliding with the old. This landscape is dynamic, full of flux and change, jostling with heat and sleep in equal measure. This place is ready for ideas to spawn, it is a place where new writing can be born.

A Walk Down the Rift

Poetry was posted to the trail until the beginning of March this year (2015) and over the last few months we have been working with the Fly Catcher Press to put a publication together.

The print date has been set and all are invited to the Poetry Pin exhibition at Contains Art in Watchet from 21st October - 1st Novemeber, with a special event evening on the 31st from 7pm.

Book Launch

During the exhibition the Book will be at a reduced rate and all those whose work is inside will get a complimentary copy. But the works are still available along the trail, just visit the Poetry Pin website on your phone and follow links to reveal.

So where is it?

The Poetry Pin project could easily dilute itself by allowing poetry to be geolocated anywhere - at the top of mountains, secret islands or even Antarctica, but the very first steps need to be distinct and focused. So the chosen path is the one dislocated from the coast by the new Hinkley C development in West Somerset.
